Cellulitus

Cellulitis is a skin condition caused by an infection. It often starts out as a red or swollen spot, before spreading to other areas of the skin. The affected areas may feel tender or hot to the touch. Even though cellulitis may occur anywhere on the body, it is most likely to appear on the upper thigh. Other areas where it may occur include the face and upper body. This condition most frequently affects the surface layers of the skin, but it may also spread to the bloodstream or lymph nodes.
<br>If left untreated, cellulitis may become life-threatening; that’s why you should seek treatment immediately. The specific symptoms of cellulitis may include: a painful or tender area in the body; a rash that spreads rapidly; warmth in the infected area; and lastly, a fever may also be present. In severe cases, sweating, fatigue and dizziness may also be observed. Once diagnosed, your doctor will most likely prescribe a regimen of oral antibiotics to eradicate the infection. Painkillers may also be prescribed.
