Gabapentin is a GABA analog and is commonly used as an anticonvulsant drug. Also known as an anti-epileptic medication, gabapentin affects nerves within your body. The brand name versions of gabapentin include Horizant, Neurontin, and Gralise. Depending on the type you get, you might receive oral tablets or a liquid solution. Immediate-release and extended-release tablets are also available.
